VENTILATION FOR ABBATOIR

Issue

Exeon were asked to provide a dust extraction and fresh air insulation system for a poultry abattoir. The process required operators lifting the birds onto a production line at which point a certain level of dust was created. The operators required relief from the high level of dust and reduction in heat.

Solution

Exeon supplied and installed a ventilation and dust extraction system for improving the operating conditions, this consisted of an extraction grill located behind where the process took place to allow for pulling away of airborne dust away from the operated breathing zones. It also allowed for a fresh air ventilation system discharged over their breathing zones to ensure the contaminated air was ‘pushed’ away from their breathing zones and encouraged the contaminated air to be drawn away by the extract. The system had to be provided in stainless steel to allow for the rigorous clean down procedure in the area.
