COATING MACHINE FUME EXTRACTION

Issue

Exeon were asked to provide Extraction from a proposed Coating Machine, requiring fume extraction from multiple extract points.

There was insufficient information provided from the Machine manufacturer and Exeon were required to support in design on the airflows required.

The Customer was also renting the space and had an existing discharge vent which they wanted to use to prevent an additional opening. However the opening was small compared to the required duct size.

Solution

Exeon supplied and installed a Central Extraction system to provide the required level of airflow for the machine. There was significant liaison required with the customer and the machine supplier required in order to determine the correct flow.

The Centrifugal Extraction fan was designed with sufficient power to overcome the backpressure of the existing opening, and thus the required flow was achieved.
