The existing dust extractor systems in three separate D&T workshops had low flow and poor design, and were very noisy as internally located, making teaching nearly impossible when running.
In addition, the units were not ATEX rated which was necessary due to the fine wood dust being handled.
A Rhino ATEX type extraction system was installed, complete with anti-static filter bags, explosion relief panel and anti-spark fan. In addition, the ductwork system was replaced with clip-together smooth-bore ducting to increase flow and reduce noise on the system.
As the unit was located outside there was a great improvement in the noise levels, allowing teaching to be much more pleasant!
