INDUSTRIAL FUME EXTRACTION SYSTEM FOR FABRICS MANUFACTURER
Exeon were asked by Avintiv, Maldon, to look at a fume issue resulting from a calendaring process on a construction fabric.
Fume was being given off over a long narrow corridor which was over the top of a wide production line. A further complication was that the area it was extracting from needed to be frequently accessed meaning the duct could not be permanent.
The roof was 8m above the process, so this could not support the ductwork.
Not to be beaten by these difficulties, Exeon designed and built a fume extraction system which was supported from the same supports as production. The fume was extracted locally by a series of long, narrow extraction slot hoods.
The supports were swivel supports; as a result, the whole section could be lifted back with ease when the production machinery was needing to be accessed.
