Exeon were asked to provide a solution using the CleanCair negative pressure systems at St Mary’s Hospital in London.
Two adjacent ward areas were needed to be upgraded to a negative pressure room, with critical urgency, to be used to care for Covid-19 patients. These negative pressure rooms require high frequency of ‘air changes’ and require correct pressurization.
Control on the airfow was vital to prevent the spread of the disease within the area.
The job had to be installed within 10 working days of visiting site.
Exeon installed two separate CleanCair extraction systems to provide the negative flow on the area.
Both systems had EC type extraction fans, speed-adjustable to allow exactly the right airflows to be allocated to each area, ensuring sufficient negative pressure and air changes were achieved.
The filter systems in the CleanCair are ‘Safe-Change’ type, ensuring that any maintenance personnel will never have to contact the filter. The extraction system was installed within the allocated time period and allowed the ward to be immediately used for the intended purpose.
