Odour Control System – Kimberly-Clark

Issue - Project Brief

Exeon were asked to provide an odour extraction solution for a perfume spray application process used to scent cardboard toilet roll cores at a Kimberly-Clark facility.

The process generated concentrated airborne fumes around the applicator, with estimated peak odour levels of 6,000–10,000ouE/m³. The emissions required control to meet a discharge threshold of 1,000ouE/m³ and improve local working conditions.

Project Solution

Exeon proposed a Nodour Tank-Flo™ activated carbon adsorber system with integrated pre-filtration and extract fan to capture and treat the odorous fumes.

A galvanised steel collection hood with strip curtains was installed around the perfume applicator to create local negative pressure and capture emissions at source. The system provides 1,000m³/hr extraction with a 5-second dwell time across approximately 695kg of activated carbon media, ensuring effective odour removal prior to discharge via a local stack.
