The Gov of Jersey had an odour issue surrounding a new build Bio-Solids (sludge cake) storage facility in Bellozanne. The anticipated odour emissions were very specific and extraction was required for limited months in a year whilst in use as a stand-by storage area whilst the main energy recovery facility is off-line.
The specific extract needed to account for EH40 guidance, moisture build-up, heat gain and oxygen depletion via bacterial activity as well as vehicular activity. Extraction was set at 20,000m³/hr allowing for 2no air changes per hour.
