How Wet Scrubber Technology Works

Wet scrubbers remove pollutants by bringing contaminated air into contact with a specially formulated scrubbing liquid.

Air containing odours, fumes, gases or dust particles enters the base of the scrubber and travels upwards through the packed tower. At the same time, the scrubbing liquid flows down through the packing media, creating a large surface area for contact between the air and liquid.
As the two streams interact, pollutants are absorbed, neutralised or captured by the scrubbing solution. The cleaned air then passes through a mist eliminator, which removes any remaining moisture droplets before the treated air is discharged safely into the atmosphere.

The scrubbing solution is continuously monitored and adjusted through automated dosing systems to maintain optimum performance and ensure effective removal of target pollutants.

Other Features

The main parameters that regulate the particulate capture process are:

Particles size: the larger the particle, the easier it is to capture

  • Droplets size:capture efficiency increases with the decreasing of droplets size;

Relative velocity between the particles and the droplets: the increase of the speed increase the removal efficiency.
