Odour Abatement System for Waste Facility

Issue

An area within the Grundon Waste Facility is used to process raw incinerable waste, typically black bag waste, and convert this into bales for use as Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF).

To meet BAT (best available techniques) Extraction with Carbon adsorption is required.

The customer also required internal recirculation to avoid requiring an environmental permit.

Solution

Exeon supplied and installed an Odour & abatement system to control dust to 5m3/Nm3 and odour to within 1,000ou/m3.

Airflow of the system was approximately 15,000m3/hr.

The clean air duct was recirculated back into the building via an attenuator for noise control.

The installation took place inside a 16-week window.
