Odour Control at Anaerobic Digestion Facility
Issue
Exeon were asked to provide an odour control system for the reception hall of the Anaerobic Digestion plant in Bangley (Scotland). The site was handling large amounts of grass silage, chicken litter, farmyard manure and vegetable waste. As a result, it was giving off high levels of odour (up to 10,000ou/m3) and some airborne particulate (dust).
Solution
Exeon designed and installed a Nodour Hi-Flo deep-bed extraction system handling 40,000m3/hr. We also incorporated a dust prefilter section, galvanised steel ducting and grilles, fan, and a 14m high tethered stack. UV was requested to be installed of which has been installed but is not running, acceptable readings have been achieved without UV.
Air quality within the building was significantly improved as a result of the system installation, and the system was installed with humidity and temperature sensors to ensure BAT compliance.
