Packaged Wet Scrubber, unit type WX
The WX unit is a compact packaged wet scrubber unit which is suitable for removing a wide range of gas types from air including moist gases, corrosive fumes, and also removing fine dust from air streams.
Helps control odours and meet environmental emission standards.
- Packaged unit complete with fan, dosing and circulating pumps, controls, and reagent dosing controls
- Can be run, tested and commissioned prior to site delivery creating minimal site installation works and is pre-proven
- Can be used for gas absorption, cooling, humidification or condensing
- High removal efficiencies for many gaseous pollutants, including Ammonia (NH3), Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), Hydrogen Chloride (HCI), Sulphur Dioxide (SO2), etc.
- Capacities of 1,000 – 50,000 m³/hr and modular for intervening and larger sizes
- Efficiencies up to 99% *
Manufactured from high-density polypropylene, the WX unit is contained in the toughest housing, designed for years of trouble-free operation, and is supplied in a working package for the easiest and fastest of site installations.
The ring-type packing maximises contact area for high efficiency, and the simple design is easy to service.

How it works

The reagent is added to water creating a scrubbing liquor maximising capture depending on the target emission. Polluted gases enter at the bottom of the packed tower and are forced upwards, making contact with the scrubbing liquid being pumped down through the packed column.
The air passes through a mist eliminator to removed the moisture droplets still suspended in the cleaned gas stream. Liquid collected by the eliminator drains back into the reservoir. Make up liquid is constantly introduced, and reagent is added on demand using a dosing pump controlled by a pH monitor, whilst spent liquor is purged via the unit drain.
