NEW EXTRACTION SYSTEM ON PAPER WASTE SYSTEM

Issue

This paper waste handling system discharged paper cuttings into a waste skip. The discharge arrangement was unfiltered and this allowed large quantities of dust to escape and go all over the adjacent car parking area. Dust Extraction was required to prevent this environmental issue.

Solution

A Rhino Dust Extraction unit was installed by Exeon with ducting and a hood to capture the dust without impacting on the operation of the transfer system. This was designed by handling a slightly higher air volume through the dust extractor but allowing fresh air to makeup around the open hood rather than connect directly to the system. This minimised the volume of dust captured by the dust extractor and allowed the majority to go directly into the skip.
