Aggregates waste handling Dust Control
Issue
Exeon were asked to address a problem where hot waste was being handled, with high volumes of steam and dust combined. The dust was also aggressive, requiring considerations as to corrosion prevention.
Solution
Exeon designed and installed a wet dust control unit handling 60,000m3/hr with an extensive run of extract ducting, extracting both from local hoods and also via background extraction grills where local control wasn’t possible.
The central unit had stainless steel internal parts and some of the ducting and hoods were from stainless steel. The Dust extraction system was a self-induced venturi scrubber with auto desludge to reduce maintenance requirements.
The system successfully achieved control of airborne dust and has maintained this since installation/commissioning, controlling the dust and steam throughout the product handling process.
