Odour control System for an Anaerobic Digestion Plant
Issue
Exeon were asked to provide an Odour control System for an Anaerobic Digestion Plant in Kettering.
The existing system placed the building under positive pressure and as a result, there were a number of odour complaints.
An odour control system was required to put the building under negative pressure, and anticipate for the future increase / expansion of the building.
Controls were required to allow for remote interrogation, to allow for remote engineering support. The system was required to control odour levels to 1,000ouE/m3
Solution
Exeon successfully supplied and installed a hi-flo™TM Extraction system to ensure the building is under negative pressure, and providing three air changes to the building to improve the air quality. The difference in surrounding atmosphere was very evident to the staff and other stakeholders.
Dust control was incorporated to prevent any airborne dust from blocking the carbon media.
The hi-flo™TM system was installed with additional future capacity for additional buildings.
Tests proved the system met the required 1000ouE/m3 discharge thresholds for odour.
