DUST EXTRACTION BOOTH FOR SIEVE – FLOUR DUST

Issue

Exeon were asked to provide a solution for Dust Extraction system at a Food factory dedicated to a very famous Fast food chain.

The seasoning on Chicken Nuggets was being mixed in large quantities producing large quantities of dust, and with the highest levels of hygiene required, as well as H&S control, internal dust control was required to be absolute.

The dust was produced from a manual tipping process into a hopper which dropped into a Sieve, and from the sieve into a transfer bowl.

An Extraction booth was required. The system had to be fully Stainless internally with the ability to strip down the system for regular cleaning. The System was required to be ATEX rated, which the previous extraction system was not.

Solution

Exeon supplied and installed a bespoke Stainless booth.

The Booth was designed around the Sieve process with access panels for ease of cleaning and access.

Exeon installed a Rhino Extraction system, ATEX rated with Explosion discharge, externally to the building. The system was installed with just a 24hour shutdown on the area.

Dust levels were reduced to a fraction of the legal exposure limits, and cleaning requirements were subsequently minimised.
