INDUSTRIAL AIR CONDITIONING UNIT FOR FOOD PROCESSING PLANT
Issue
Exeon were asked to provide a solution for ventilation on chicken abbatoir plant.
The Plant previously had extraction with carbon filtration, but subsequently, had problems with condensate mist being drawn in in winter months from the roof void (due to low temperature air being drawn in to a high temperature environment) and hot roof void air being drawn in during summer and thus insufficient reduction in temperatures.
Solution
Exeon designed and installed a Supply air ventilation plant, providing a high level of supply air ensuring that there was always a positive air pressure in the factory. 20 air changes of Ventilation was provided ensuring that the factory was never any hotter than the outside temperatures, and therefore providing a huge saving negating the need for expensive cooling.
The unit was fitted with a heating coil with a sensor to ensure that the incoming air was never beneath 15 degrees centigrade, therefore eliminating the mist problem.
The Ventilation system was fitted with dampers to allow an option of warm air to be drawn from roof void during winter for re-use of the heat (thus providing energy savings) and to fresh air from outside during summer for maximum cooling effect.
